Project Technology: WordPress

WordPress is an open-source blogging platform that has evolved into a CMS that works well for a wide range of article-driven websites. Giant Rabbit offers planning, architecture, design, implementation, and maintenance support for WordPress--with particular emphasis on the "maintenance" because WordPress' ubiquity has made it a frequent target of automated hacks. Giant Rabbit provides the routine support and disaster-recovery services necessary to keep WordPress secure. We provide WordPress support for the following clients:

CompassPoint has been building capacity in nonprofit organizations for over 35 years through teaching, coaching, consulting, and the facilitation of peer learning. We recently architected, designed and built a new modular web site for them, along with an updated class registration system. We also have worked with them for the past few years to produce online annual reports (see herehere, here, and here).

The Ecology Center works to build a sustainable and healthy future for the East Bay, California, and beyond. They are environmental advocates and educators working to transform ideals of sustainability into everyday practice. They support and operate farmer's markets, lead classes, promote food justice, and operate Berkeley's curbside recycling program. We provide ongoing support and development for their family of WordPress sites. We also migrated their data from FileMaker Pro to Salesforce, and we provide ongoing Salesforce training and support.

Keshet works for full LGBTQ equality and inclusion in Jewish life. They cultivate the spirit and practice of inclusion in all parts of the Jewish community, guided by a vision of a world where Jews of all sexual orientations and gender identities can live fully integrated Jewish lives. They partner with clergy, educators and volunteers to equip them with the tools and knowledge to be effective agents of change. We provide ongoing support and maintenance for their WordPress-based website.

The National Network of Abortion Funds works to make sure that abortions are safe, legal and accessible to all. They support a network of local grassroots abortion funds that help women overcome obstacles that might otherwise prevent them from getting access to abortion care. We helped NNAF migrate to Salesforce and implement a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign using Classy. We developed their Bowl-a-thon page in 2017 (developing in Webflow and including a Classy integration), and added UX enhancements in 2018. We provide ongoing design, development and CRM support.

The San Francisco General Hospital Foundation provides Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital with the financial resources it needs to deliver exceptional comprehensive healthcare and trauma services to anyone in need. We're rethinking and redesigning their website from the ground up, with a renewed focus on inspiring support by telling the story of the life-saving work the Foundation makes possible. In the meantime, we're providing ongoing support and maintenance for their WordPress site.

TrackYourHours provides a simple online platform for Marriage and Family Therapist, LPCC and LCSW candidates to log their clinical experience hours required for state licensure. We provide ongoing PHP development services to enhance the service and keep it up-to-date with rapidly changing regulations. We also provide support for TrackYouHours customer service--TrackYourHours goes out of their way to help users who have accidentally deleted, overwritten, or otherwise messed up their critical hours data, which means we write custom SQL queries to pull data from backups and manually restore the accounts of distressed users. We also designed and built TrackYourCEUs, a new app to help LMFT, LPCC or LCSW professionals track their compliance with California continuing education requirements.

Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms is a cultural and educational exchange program that supports and expands the organic farm movement by connecting volunteers from around the world with organic farms in the United States. We provide ongoing support and development for WWOOF's heavily-customized WordPress site and CiviCRM instance.
