Giant Rabbit - manage

You already have some technology resources. Perhaps you have a staff member who has a little computer knowledge, or a volunteer who helps out from time to time. You may be fortunate enough to have a regular IT staffer, or maybe you are thinking of hiring one. You also have at least some equipment already; if you are like most NPOs it is a mis-matched collection of donations and purchases, some pieces perfectly usable, others barely functioning.

We can:

  1. evaluate your current inventory of equipment
You can waste a lot of time and money trying to fix equipment which has passed its prime; you can also waste a lot of time and money purchasing new equipment unnecessarily. You need someone who is not a salesperson to help you sort the quick from the dead, and find the most cost-effective way to meet future needs.
  2. manage volunteers and donations
A little oversight and centralized control can go a long way toward making the most of the resources you have. Volunteers and donations are far more useful when vetted and guided by someone who understands both your particular needs and the state of the technology in general.
  3. collaborate with or manage existing staff
Even the best IT professionals can benefit from collaborative input from their peers. We at Giant Rabbit have all experienced working alone, and we know how helpful it is to have another perspective on our work and our priorities. We can work with your existing IT staffer, providing as much or as little help as you feel is necessary. If you aren't sure if your existing IT staffer is providing your agency with the support it needs, we can help you make that determination, and help you direct your staffer's work in the directions that best serve your mission.
  4. help you hire a new staff member
If you are considering hiring a new IT staffer, you need help from someone who understands the specialized language of technology, but who also understands your organization. We can work with you to craft the right job description, help you sort the small tidal wave of responses you will receive, and we can even help you interview candidates. In the current job market, there are extremely good candidates available, but it takes a techie to know a techie. Once you've made your choice, we can maintain a relationship with you and your new hire to keep everything on track.
